anatomy of a shoestring adventure: lots of fun for not much money

by:Glory Footwear     2020-05-05
Like most people, my husband lives on a meager income.
We have enough money to pay the rent, just enough to pay our bills, just enough to put the groceries in the fridge, just enough to put a little money on the savings account, it\'s just enough to leave some one-off dollars at the end of the month.
However, with today\'s price, our disposable dollar was quickly disposed.
You can do a lot of cheap things for entertainment.
That said, unless you know where to look for it, there is not much to do, and you can do it with a rope if you know how to look for it.
We have been taking risks since the day we got married.
We never had much money to spend on eye-catching vacations, and even when we went on vacation our money has been increasing.
Over the years, I have learned how to spend our money on all kinds of incredible roads. --
Sometimes it\'s just a day, sometimes a whole week.
Whenever and wherever we are, we have had experiences where money can\'t be bought.
24 or more albums stacked in my hall closet prove this!
I tell you where to go, how to get there, or what to do when you get there, it\'s small.
Since our adventures are tailored for us, they may not be attractive to you.
What I can share with you, however, is how to create your own Shoestring adventure ----
One is customized.
Suitable for you, your family, your budget and your interests.
With some simple skills, a range of handy things, and a little bit of planning and preparation, you\'ll be on your way!
Put these things at hand!
First of all, if you don\'t have a very good state roadmap (
Or the state you\'re going)---BUY ONE.
I\'m not talking about a simple map, it has major roads like the tourist Atlas, I\'m talking about a large paper road map that you can never redraw correctly.
You can usually buy excellent state roadmaps in stores such as Kmart, Wal-Mart, or any bookstore.
Before purchasing the roadmap, please make sure there are many interesting places on the roadmap.
In order to confirm, he opened the map, googlegend, or swikey (
They explain all the symbols used on the map).
Places of interest are usually marked with things like red dots, blue squares, etc.
In fact, so many road maps we purchased use red dots, which we know just refer to interesting places on the map.
Assemble the Dragon Road Adventure Kit Dragon and keep it ready!
You can use anything from cartons, plastic milk cartons, milk cartons (
Just like the rubber maid storage tub you can get at Walmart)
Even a great picnic basket.
Personally, we use crates;
It is easy to carry and very suitable for the bed of our truck (
And all our other road Adventures).
You should start assembling your kit and include any or all of the following in your crate: a roll of paper towels and a bottle of hand sanitizer picnic supplies (
Paper plates, plastic utensils, etc. )
Plastic tablecloth (
Like the one you can buy cheaply.
A couple of big beach towelsA small first-
A sharp knife, a can opener, scissors
Big games like spelling games, playing cards, etc.
A gallon of fresh drinking water (
Be sure to refresh regularly)
A sheet of paper, pencil, pensA Road Adventure log your road adventure kit should be customized
Made to meet your family needs.
Picnic supplies can still come in handy soon if you are not interested in picnics
Food like fried chicken and even hamburgers and chips!
Have lunch in the park!
You may be glad you have a tablecloth (
There are very few places near clean public picnic tables)
Towels can be laid on a bench so you can sit in a clean place.
You should also consider including personal needs in your kit (
Give the baby a few clean diapers, a box of facial tissue with a runny nose, some women\'s hygiene items, don\'t know, any-
Allergic drugs you may need, etc. ). Be creative!
Also, let your first few road adventures teach you what you need.
Write it down if you forget something.
Next time you come back
Be sure to add the item when assembling the kit.
Also, it would be helpful to buy duplicates of items such as tank opener, so you can put them in the kit and get them ready.
Find a fun red dot here where you can have fun planning a road adventure.
First of all, you need to determine if this is a day trip, halfDay trip, two daysday trip, etc.
Also, do you have very young children who are not performing well on long-distance car trips?
If your travel limit is not more than 1-
One-way one-hour drive, then look for places of interest within a range of about 40 miles from home.
Although most speed limits on major roads are at least 60 miles per hour, it never occurred to you that your average speed would exceed 40 miles per hour
Travel 45 miles an hour.
You may even want to track a normal circle on your home map so you know what\'s within the travel distance you want.
You can even draw incremental circles on the map to represent an hour, two hours, etc.
Run away from home. Just remember!
You always have to go home, so take this into account when you plan your adventure.
Once you know how far you can travel easily (and return)
Then you can start looking at the map.
Anywhere in the travel radius you want, look for interesting red spots marked on the map.
There are usually short descriptions next to the places of interest: Pioneer Park, children\'s museum, historical home.
If there is no Red Dot then go for the town you have never been to or the road you have never been.
We are often pleasantly surprised by what we find: a quaint town with some interesting shops;
A long winding rural road dotted with small farms or old houses, and perhaps a sign that says, \"sell fresh honey,\" where we spontaneously visited the hive of beekeepers
Historical landmarks marked by road signs.
When there is no red dot, you can also do a little planning in advance by calling the local Chamber of Commerce.
Find a small town and learn the area code (if necessary)
, And the number of telephone check stations (
Better yet, surf the Internet for town sites! ).
Ask them what\'s interesting in town.
Many small towns have their own historical museums or other historical landmarks.
Maybe all they have is a fantastic community park where the biggest tree in the county is growing!
The place you are interested in is really unlimited.
If there\'s a town park or two-
The Real County Museum is not your business, then first make sure what your family will be interested in.
Go online, call the Chamber of Commerce, or go to your bookstore or library where you can find books on what needs to be done in your state.
Your adventure can be anything that will take you away from home for a day and create a pleasant memory for your whole family!
If you have children aged 5 or over then this is a great opportunity to teach them how to read and use the roadmap.
You can even let them plan their own adventures!
If you have one more child then you can appoint a travel planner, a pilot and a supply officer.
Give them specific tasks, including finding a place to go (
What is it, where is it, how far is it)
How to get there (
What road do you need to open and how many miles to walk before you reach your next turn)
And the day you need to enjoy (
Special clothing for outdoor activities, picnic lunch, toys and games to enjoy in the car, sleepy pillows --
After a whole day of outing).
Let them tell you instead of telling them where you\'re going!
I do need to remind you: be prepared to make that interesting red dot nothing.
We often track down points that claim to be historic fortfort or landmark dots, County of Ontario that prove to be nothing more than a bronze plaque on the rock at the end of the residential street.
When this happens, we just wander around where we are and see what we can see.
Sometimes we meet at the local street market, windsurfing or the train model Museum.
Sometimes all we get from here is a day away from home.
When this happens, if you have disappointed kids in your car, then it might be a good time to find an ice cream shop and give them a spoonful of peanut butter fudge ice cream!
Record everyone\'s comments on this day using your road adventure log.
You can collect brochures, dining cards or tickets and keep a memory album.
Make sure to include a few if you take pictures!
This may be a good basis for school reports for young children.
Basically, your adventure can be anything you want.
Know in advance what your budget is and what works for your family in terms of meals (
Do you pack a picnic or stop at McDonald\'s ? )
, And how far you can venture in the time of travel and adventure.
Never plan what you can do comfortably for more than a day.
If there are a few interesting things to see or do in this place, plan a few repeat visits.
During the day, temporary cramming is not only a few activities, but also can put the whole family into a situation of adventure overload.
I hope you enjoy your next adventure and you continue to run away and find interesting red spots marked on the map.
Make it a habit to enjoy together and experience something new or different!
